Kayleigh's first plane ride.

We decided to take Kayleigh on her first plane ride to Texas at 2 months old. I was so excited but I was also a bit nervous because I didn't know how she would do with it. I had her diaper bag full of her favorite comfort items and planned on nursing her at take off and landing to help with her ears popping.
I decided I was going to carry her through the airport in my ring sling. She always fell right to sleep in it, so I figured it would be our best bet to get through the airport without her getting fussy.
We made our way through LAX and she was sound asleep the whole way to our gate. Although, at security they had to pat me down because when we went through the metal detector it went off because the metal rings on my sling (DUH)! But, I allowed them to pat me down while I was still wearing Kayleigh, she stayed asleep the whole time thankfully!
When we finally boarded the plane we took our seats. Nick let me sit by the window so it would be easier for me to nurse her. Everyone kept looking at me weird. I knew what they were thinking. They got on the flight with the baby that would be screaming and crying the whole two and a half hours.
Little did they know, my kid isn't a big crier. Give her some milk, and she will be asleep the whole flight. And that she did. She slept the whole time. I was very proud of her! I thought it would be a lot harder to travel with her, but she did so well. When she gets a bit older, it might be another story. But, her first flight when quite well. We had a fun time in Texas and all our family just loved her to pieces.
